Founded in 1978, Los Angeles Dance Foundation’s (LADF) original mission established a performative archive of modern dance reconstructions and commissioned works for diverse audiences in performance, outreach, and arts learning settings.

Today, LADF cultivates awareness of the dance legacies and professionals, and provides self-sustaining, career development resources in writings, workshops, and networks for artists.

RESOURCES:

  • Select LADF concert footage is online for educational and research purposes at USC Library.

  • American Repertory Dance Company’s reconstructions of thematic programs over its 10-year existence.

LADF's selected footage becomes part of USC Library's Dance History Video Archive funded by an Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant. This collection is the first-of-its-kind digital collection of Southern California's dance history recordings for educational and research use.
